This Privacy Policy explains how the Marian iOS application ("Marian", "the app", "we", or "our") handles information when you use the app. The website request section below separately explains information you choose to send through praymarian.com.
Marian does not require you to create an account and does not collect personal information for advertising, analytics, or tracking purposes.
Through the app itself, we do not collect or receive:

Deleting Marian removes the app's locally stored data from your device. Purchase records associated with your Apple Account are maintained separately by Apple and may be used to restore eligible purchases.
Marian's prayer content is designed to work without an internet connection. The Holy Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Holy Wounds Chaplet, prayer texts, mysteries, and other core prayer content are included within the app.
An internet connection may still be required for services provided by Apple, such as purchasing or restoring Marian Patron through the App Store, and for optional features that open external content, such as Today's Readings.
Marian includes an optional "Today's Readings" feature that opens the day's Catholic Mass readings from Universalis, a third-party website, in an in-app browser (Safari) provided by iOS.
To show readings appropriate to your part of the world, Marian selects the correct Universalis page using your device's Region setting. This selection happens on your device; your region is not collected, transmitted, or stored by Marian.
When you open Today's Readings, you are viewing a third-party website that is not operated by Marian. That website has its own privacy policy and terms, and, like any website you visit, it may receive standard technical information such as your device's IP address and browser type. You can review Universalis's privacy policy at universalis.com/privacy.htm. Marian does not control and is not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party websites.
Marian does not share your prayer history, statistics, intentions, or other app data with Universalis or any other third-party website.
Marian does not display advertisements and does not use third-party advertising networks, tracking SDKs, or third-party analytics services.
Marian does not track you across apps or websites.
Marian Patron is available through in-app purchases processed by Apple using StoreKit.
Marian Patron may be purchased through a monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscription, or a one-time (lifetime) purchase.
Apple processes payments and manages transaction information associated with your Apple Account. Marian does not receive your credit card number, banking information, or other payment credentials.
The app may receive information from StoreKit indicating whether a valid Marian Patron purchase or subscription is active so that Patron features can be unlocked.

Marian Patron users may choose to enable prayer reminders.
If you enable reminders, Marian requests permission to send notifications through iOS. Reminder schedules are stored on your device and are used to deliver the reminders you configure.
You can change notification permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Marian Patron allows you to enter prayer intentions for use during prayer and with certain reminder features.
Prayer intentions remain stored locally on your device. Marian does not receive, review, transmit, or store your prayer intentions on an external server.
Marian Patron includes optional Home Screen widgets that can display information such as prayer streaks.
Information required by Marian's widgets is stored locally on your device and shared only between the Marian app and its widget extension through Apple's local app storage mechanisms.
Marian Patron includes an optional feature called Prayer Lock, which can keep apps you choose locked until you have spent a set amount of time in prayer each day. Prayer Lock uses Apple's Screen Time technology (the Family Controls, Device Activity, and Managed Settings frameworks).
Prayer Lock is entirely optional and only operates after you grant Screen Time authorization for your own device through Apple's system prompt. It is used to limit your own app usage and is not used for parental controls or to manage another person's device.
When you choose which apps to block, or which apps should count as prayer apps, you do so through Apple's standard system picker. Marian receives only opaque, system-provided tokens representing your selections — it does not learn, see, or store the names or identities of the apps you choose.
Your Prayer Lock selections, settings, and daily progress are stored locally on your device (including in the shared app container used by Marian and its extensions). This information is not transmitted to Marian servers or to any third party.
The Marian app does not knowingly collect personal information from children or adults. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising or behavioral tracking.

Because Marian's prayer data and preferences remain on your device, their protection depends in part on the security protections provided by iOS and your device.
We recommend keeping iOS up to date and protecting your device with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID where available.
Marian does not maintain a user account or remote database containing your prayer history, intentions, statistics, or preferences.
You can remove Marian's locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device.
Subscriptions and purchase history are managed by Apple through your Apple Account and the App Store.
Marian may be available in multiple countries and languages. We aim to respect applicable privacy laws wherever the app is offered.
Because Marian does not operate user accounts, advertising systems, analytics services, or a remote database containing your prayer activity, Marian generally has very limited access to information about its users.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Marian changes or as legal and platform requirements change.
When this policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
The Support and Feature Requests forms on praymarian.com are optional and separate from the Marian app. We receive the reply email address and message you submit, along with your name, device details and other product feedback only if you choose to provide them. We use these details to handle your request and reply where appropriate, not to subscribe you to marketing.
Our website runs on Cloudflare. The forms send requests to our Cloudflare backend, which validates the fields and checks a Cloudflare Turnstile token before requesting email delivery to [email protected]. Turnstile processes technical browser and connection information to help detect automated abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
These forms are for technical support and product feedback. Do not submit passwords, payment details, health information or personal prayer intentions. We do not request attachments. Form submissions are not posted publicly, and the forms do not read your app data.
Resend is our email delivery provider. It processes the content you submit, your reply email and any optional details to deliver the request to our support mailbox. Resend may retain service records in accordance with its privacy policy. This is separate from the prayer information stored locally by the Marian app.
We do not create a website database of requests. Requests delivered by email remain in the support mailbox as needed to handle them. To ask about or request deletion of information you have sent, contact [email protected]. You may also contact us directly by email instead of using the forms.
